Fertilizer Plants Synthetic Minor Source Air Quality Permits

(Multiple Locations, ID)  Landau Associates managed the air quality permitting process for two ammonium polyphosphate fertilizer facilities in Idaho. Our client had purchased the facilities from other companies who had operated the facilities without securing the necessary environmental permits. Permit negotiations with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality were successful for these synthetic minor sources based on Landau Associates’  Potential to Emit (PTE) evaluations, implementation of pollution controls, completion of stack sampling from the primary production reactors, and atmospheric dispersion modeling to estimate impacts of fluorides and particulate matter on ambient air.
