Wildlands of Washington - Hylebos Creek Mitigation Bank
As part of due diligence in considering the conversion of land into a wetlands mitigation bank, Landau Associates provided archaeological assessment services at an approximately 6-acre property in the Commencement Bay Watershed in Pierce County, Washington. The archaeological assessment involved potential ground disturbance. Because the project involved a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit, the work was conducted under the National Historic Preservation Act section 106 regulations. The assessment included researching background materials, conducting a surface and subsurface survey, conducting an inventory of historical residences and outbuildings, and producing a cultural resources assessment report and an Unanticipated Discovery Plan.
