Joe Kalmar, PE

Principal Chemical Engineer, Stormwater Services Leader

Joe leads Landau Associates’ stormwater consulting practice. He joined the firm in 1996 and has over 19 years of experience assisting clients to comply with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations and permits. Joe has prepared regulatory compliance and engineering documents such as stormwater pollution prevention plans, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, and engineering reports for a wide range of clients’ properties, including industrial and manufacturing facilities, shipyards, airports, and fuel storage and fueling facilities. Joe has designed award-winning stormwater treatment systems, wastewater treatment, groundwater and soil remediation, and helped clients implement stormwater structural and operational best management practices (BMPs). As a project manager and engineer, Joe has been involved with stormwater quality improvements at all project stages—from initial investigation, evaluation, and design through cost estimating, construction documents, construction management, and system operations.

Joe is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Puget Sound Shipbuilders Association (PSSA), and Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA).
