Principal Geologist, Ports and Energy Services Leader
Brian joined Landau Associates in 1986 and brings three decades of applied geosciences consulting and regulatory expertise to advance clients’ facility design, permitting and compliance, remediation, and industrial property development projects. As the firm’s leader for ports and energy services markets, Brian works closely with electrical utilities, ports, airports, private industry, engineering design firms, attorneys, and regulatory agencies. He is adept at maintaining positive working relationships with agency staff, clients, and multidisciplinary consultant teams. Brian has managed hundreds of property development, landfill compliance, environmental investigation, remediation, and environmental litigation support projects.
Brian participates with professional groups including the Washington Public Ports Association (WPPA), Geological Society of America (GSA), GSA 2017 Annual Meeting advance planning group, Pacific Northwest Waterways Association (PNWA), Northwest Hydroelectric Association (NWHA), and Northwest Geological Society (NWGS) (Past President and 2007 Symposium).
Brian volunteers as a member of the Board of Advisers for Oregon State University College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, and for University of Washington Department of Earth and Space Sciences development activities.
